Born on September 20, 1977, to Aron and Stephanie Diggs, Trevon De’Sean Diggs is a Cornerback and made his NCAA debut in 2016 with the Alabama Crimson Tide. While at Alabama, Diggs did a little bit of everything.  He logged time on Offense, Defense, and Special teams as a freshman.  While Diggs switched to defense full-time after his freshman season, his experience as a receiver and kick returner has served him well in the NFL.

Diggs grew up with 3 brothers: Darez, Stefon, and Avon Jr.  His brother, Stefon Diggs, is a standout wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills. Trevon and Stefon Diggs remain close as both are seen playing opposite sides of the ball in the National Football League. Stefon is an accomplished football player in his own right and is a respected Wide Receiver in the league.  Trevon has made it clear about his desire to play on the same team as his older brother.

Many fans share that desire to see both Diggs brothers play on the same team. Dallas Cowboys fans are especially hopeful to keep Trevon and add another member of the Diggs family.  Stefon Diggs once said that it is a special feeling playing with his brother in the esteemed National Football League as he was once in charge of changing his diapers. Their other brother, Darez also played football for the UAB Blazers.

The Diggs family lived in Gaithersburg, Maryland where Trevon attended Thomas Sprigg Wootton High School during his freshman year and then switched to The Avalon School in his sophomore year.  The decision to switch schools came from Diggs because he wanted to follow his football coach, Tyree Spinner. Tyree had made such an impact on the young player that Stefon decided to follow his program and switch schools mid-high school.

In his junior year, Trevon rushed for more than 1,000 yards and recorded 15 touchdowns and 78 receptions. He was an award-winning high school football player, receiving the All-Washington DC Metro selection twice.

In his college years, he opted to go to The University of Alabama and played under legendary coach Nick Saban.  Saban is a coaching extraordinaire in his own right and has a long history of molding and developing young football players to be lethal weapons once they reach the NFl.  Alabama is an esteemed football school that has produced great football players over the years.

In his first season with the Crimson Tide, he had five tackles and a forced fumble. He also recorded 88 yards on defense as well as 11 receptions and 1 touchdown. As a special team player, he totaled 296 return yards.

During his sophomore year, Trevon switched to cornerback full-time and has stayed with that position since then.  In his last year with Alabama, Trevon had another outstanding year, with 37 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries, and a 100-yard touchdown return. He also made a career-high 10 tackles against LSU.

The switch from offense and special teams to defense is a no-brainer for Trevon because he can attack the ball aggressively and he possesses great ball awareness no matter what side of the team he is on. This skill proved lethal as he fully switched into the cornerback position because he has excellent ball-handling skills and can keep ball possessions effectively.

Diggs is known as a private person and rarely talks about his personal life. In 2016, his son Aaiden was born.

Diggs is 23 years old and has only been with the Dallas Cowboys for 2 years. He was selected 51st of his 2020 Draft Class. Even with those 2 years, Diggs has had an impressive run. His first career sack was recorded against the Cleveland Browns in Week4 and his first two interceptions in Week 8. On Week 9th, Diggs broke his foot which placed him on injury reserve. He was finally released from injury reserve in December.

Diggs subsequently tied with Brian Russell for the NFL record for most consecutive games with an interception to start a season with six games. Since the 2021 season is the first full season that Trevon played in the NFL, this is considered his redemption year because he was sidelined for the majority of his rookie season due to a foot injury.

Because of his electrifying and effective performance on the field, Diggs was named as a member of the First-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl for 2021. All the accolades that are thrown Trevon’s way are all testament to how he’s grown as a player.
