Jon Batiste was born Jonathan Michael Batiste in Louisiana, to a Catholic family, on November 11, 1986. He was raised by his parents, Katherine and Michael Batiste in Kenner, Louisiana. Currently, he's 35.

Early Life
His early interest in the music industry began at age 8 when he joined The Batiste Brothers Band, playing the drums. Later, with his mother's encouragement, he switched to the piano.
He comes from a New Orleans musical dynasty family. His grandparents were locally famous musicians on both sides of his family. From that background, he has become a massive success as an international Jazz artist.
He attended St. Augustine High School, graduating in 2004. While still in high school, Batiste went to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.
