Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever jersey has been the source of much discussion in recent days.
The record holder for career points in NCAA basketball history (Men's and Women's) and former Iowa star is bound for the WNBA and just about everyone wants to own her jersey. Dick Weiss of New York Daily News reported that Clark's Indiana Fever jersey had more sales in one day than the entire Dallas Cowboys team last year.
This was not the only headline regarding Clark's WNBA Jersey.
The New York Post reported that Clark's Indiana Fever jersey has sold out of the first batch and the people who are ordering the jersey now will not receive their jerseys until after August 14.
The Jerseys are manufactured by Nike and sold on Fanatics website. Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin said Caitlin Clark had more draft night jersey sales than any athlete in the company's history.
Clark has continued to shatter records in every category.
She became the leading scorer in the history of NCAA Women's Basketball & later passed Pete Maravich as the leading scorer in Men's and Women's College Basketball. Clark and her teammates drove TV ratings that shattered records in women's sports.
The NCAA Women's Basketball National Championship between Iowa and South Carolina was viewed more than the Men's Championship Game and every World Series game in 2023.
Clark brings a much needed shot in the arm to the WNBA.
People will be watching. They just might not be wearing her jersey when they do it.
