The Bentley Hunaudières Concept was named after the Mulsanne Straight (in French, Ligne Droite des Hunaudières), which was the 6 km long straight of the Circuit de la Sarthe, where the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans auto race still takes place.
This aluminum and carbon fiber Bentley has a Volkswagen 8.0-liter W16 engine, modified to generate 623 horsepower and reach a top speed of 220 mph. Even though this vehicle was built in 1999, Bentley replaced the Hunaudières Concept’s side-view mirrors with rearview cameras mounted behind the front wheels, making this Bentley truly ahead of its time.
3. 1996 Bentley Rapier

There were only six made of this incredibly expensive Bentley, making the Rapier one of the rarest Bentley models of all time. The 1996 Bentley Rapier was made at the request of the Sultan of Brunei and even has a special number plate to prove it. The “JB” on the Rapier’s number plate stands for Prince Jefri Bolkiah, the Sultan’s brother.

2. 1930 Bentley Speed Six Open Tourer

The incredible 1930 Bentley Speed Six Open Tourer was sold at Christie’s Auction House in 2004 for $5.7 million, setting a record at the time for auctioning a Bentley. This Speed Six Open Tourer was made specifically for the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance sports car race in France, driven by race car drivers Dick Watney and Frank Clement.
This 6 ½ liter, high-performance Bentley is the most successful racing Bentley of all time, with wins in the 1928 and 1930 24 Hours of Le Mans races. There were only 182 Speed Sixes built.
1. 1932 Bentley “Blower”
Price: $7.06 Million
Coming in first place for the most expensive Bentley ever is the 1932 Bentley Blower. Selling for $7.06 million at the Goodwood Festival of Speed auction, this one-seater car was driven by British racer and ex-fighter pilot Sir Tim Birkin.
The 240-horsepower, 4.5-liter design was initially opposed by W.O. Bentley, who believed that a 4.5-liter engine would negatively impact its design and performance. Ultimately, the project was approved by Bentley Chairman Woolf Barnato, and Birkin reached 138 mph in the Blower at the Brooklands track, setting a world record.
The “Blower” Bentley will forever be known to many as the iconic pre-war racing Bentley. Whether one of these beauties will ever be available for auction again is hard to say, but if you have $7 million to spend, it’s worth keeping your eye out!
